Panchami – Worship of Maa Skandamata

The fifth day of Navratri, known as Panchami, is dedicated to the worship of Maa Skandamata, the fifth form of Goddess Durga. She symbolizes motherhood, compassion, love, wisdom, and divine protection.

Maa Skandamata is worshipped as the mother of Lord Skanda, also known as Kartikeya, the deity associated with courage and leadership. Devotees seek her blessings for family happiness, children’s well-being, wisdom, peace, and prosperity.

Who is Maa Skandamata?

Maa Skandamata is one of the nine forms of Goddess Durga worshipped during Navratri. Her name combines Skanda, another name for Lord Kartikeya, and Mata, meaning mother.
